The cottage is about 2 miles away from the pretty village of Crianlarich and is a great base from which to explore Central and West Scotland. We recommend travelling to Dochart View by car. The Falls of Dochart present a spectacular site combining picturesque natural scenery with Scottish history. Nearby in Crianlarich village, you will find a small selection of amenities including a village store, butcher, tea room and pub.Ībout a 20-minute drive away is the Falls of Dochart which is a lovely place to enjoy a walk and stop for a picnic, which can be combined with a dose of history at Moirlanich Longhouse nearby. There is also a games room with pool table and table tennis, as well as a small gym and a visitor centre with a small shop selling essentials, freshly prepared ready-made meals and local meats – ideal for that barbecue feast. Wild salmon and trout (in season) are the main attraction and rowing boats and rods are available to use. If you’ve come for the fishing, then there are five miles of loch and river to try your luck.
There are many local walking routes too, from short strolls around the loch to long distance routes through glens to hillwalking.
